Kiss of Life by Daniel Waters

The phenomenon that's been sweeping the country seems to be here to stay. Not only are the teenagers who have come back from their graves still here, but newlydeads are being unearthed all the time. While scientists look for answers and politicians take their stands, the undead population of Oakville have banded together in a group they're calling the Sons of Romero, hoping to find solidarity in segregation.

Phoebe Kendall may be alive, but she feels just as lost and alone as her dead friends. Just when she reconciled herself to having feelings for a zombie -- her Homecoming date Tommy Williams -- her friend Adam is murdered taking a bullet that was meant for her. Things get even more confusing when Adam comes back from the grave. Now she has romantic interest in two dead boys; one who saved her life, and one she can't seem to live without.

When I got Kiss of Life in the mail yesterday, I nearly screamed my head off. That's how excited I was! And let me say one thing: Kiss of Life was definitely worth the wait.

The story is, again, told in the omniscient point of view, enabling us, the readers, to view the story and situation from all key characters. One thing I loved being able to read about was Adam's struggle, as a differently biotic, to move or speak. And throughout the novel, from his view, you can tell that he has advanced in movement and speed.

In Generation Dead, we were left the the unanswered question: Who will Pheobe choose? Adam or Tommy? Well, that question is happily answered in the sequel., and I have to say, I was confused as to which side I'd pick in the last novel. I loved Tommy, but I loved Adam, too. Reading Kiss of Life definitely helped me choose.

Some very drastic changes are in store for the db(differently biotic) kids. Their lives are in danger and the same goes for those around them. Friends are split apart and laws are made. I only hope that the gang can survive these changes, and that they'll be reunited in the future.

If you haven't read Generation Dead, then I highly recommend that you do. I know you'll love it! Kiss of Life was just as witty and exciting as it's prequel. I'm anxiously waiting to read more about Pheobe and her friends.
